Passionné par la musique et les différents rythmes Dave commença à apprendre la batterie à l’âge de 8 ans. Puis la découverte du mouvement techno electro à 13 ans le poussa à s’acheter deux platines ainsi qu’une table de mixage d’occasion accompagnée de quelques vinyles happyhardcore, acide et techno. Il se mit alors à produire quelques mixtapes qu’il distribua à des connaissances et organisateurs. Comprenant assez vite le manque de management il créa en 1995 ‘’Syntax-one’’ afin de regrouper toutes sa production et ses divers projets musicaux.

Après plusieurs années d’entraînement dans sa chambre, il débuta en 1998 comme dj dans un style Hardcore en clubs et petites soirées, tout d’abord dans les régions locales puis sur des plus grandes villes de Suisse romande telles que Genève et Lausanne. Pas mal de dates se succédèrent à travers la Suisse, améliorant ainsi sa technique en prenant l’habitude de se produire devant le public. Ses sets, souvent originaux, séduisirent un public d’amateurs lassés par des mixes trop répétitifs. C’est ce qui lui permit de s’acheter du meilleur matériel afin d’approfondir toutes les techniques du djing comme le scratch et d’acquérir une vision beaucoup plus alternative. S’essayant en scratcheur et deuxième voix avec une bande d’amis de son village d’origine, dans le groupe du nom de ‘’Daïmon’’, il commença alors à utiliser son matériel de mix comme un instrument à part entière.

En avril 2000, le groupe de métal valaisan ‘’No Name’’ est à la recherche d’un dj et lui propose de s’y intégrer afin d’apporter une touche électronique à leur production. Une réussite autant dans le live que dans la production puisque trois albums, ainsi que plusieurs dates de concert s’en suivirent. Encore une bonne alchimie qui le poussa à investir dans un sampler afin de trouver de nouveau sons et de créer des diverses ambiances.

Au cours de cette même année, le collectif Kawoa Crew, composé de Dj Freekass et Dj r-torkk mixent en ping-pong un style Drum'n'bass Hardstep afin d’offrir aux touristes de station d’hiver des mixes alternatifs et percutants. Remplis de scratchs aux sonorités variées, le Kawoa Crew partage sa musique avec un public très métissé, de groupes et de dj's.

Dans la vie, la musique commence à prendre le dessus. C’est dans une station FM régionale qu’il commence un stage comme opérateur radio. Une bonne formation où il prit conscience de toute la chaîne de productions musicales. En 2002,le Bagdad Studio de Lausanne l’engage comme assistant de production et technicien du son. Une passion qui lui ouvrit les portes sur le monde de la production tout en utilisant du matériel haut de gamme. Essuyant de part et d’autres des reproches sur sa diversité musicale, dj r-torkk continua à se nourrir de ces différences de style : Techno, Electro, Drum’n’bass, Hardcore, Metal, Hip hop, Breakbeat.

En 2003, un ami lui propose de faire son propre site web comme carte de visite. Cette idée relança les bookings et lui permit de pouvoir se produire hors de ces frontières. En France il fut sollicité par plusieurs organisations notamment pour aller mixer à la Techno Parade de Paris, encore une opportunité qui lui permit de côtoyer de nouveaux contacts sur la France. Le mixe vinyle bien exploré, il ne lui manquait que la production de ses propre morceau. Rytork a vu le jour à la suite d’une erreur d’impression sur un flyer. Voici donc un bon nom pour débuter dans sa propre création électronique qui se concrétise avec l’album « Electrozic » sur lequel il mélange ses influences. Son but est d’avancer, trouver des contacts et bookings pour continuer sa passion en créant et partageant de la bonne musique, avec et pour le public.

Impassioned by music and rhythmic variation Dave started to learn the drums at the age of 8. Then the discovery of the electro techno movement techno at 13 years inspired him to buy two record players as well as a second hand mixing table with some happyhardcore, acid and techno vinyls. He then started to produce some mixes that he distributed to various acquaintances and organizers.

Quickly realising the lack of decent management, he created "Syntax-one" in 1995 in order to collate all his production and various musical projects.

After several years of working from his bedroom, he began in 1998 as a Hardcore DJ in clubs and small venues, at first locally then in larger towns of French-speaking Switzerland such as Geneva and Lausanne. Dates and Gigs followed one another throughout Switzerland, where he greatly improved his technique by practicing in front of the public. His sets, often entirely original, allured a public of music lovers and other DJs wearied by mixes that had become too repetitive. These performances enabled him to buy better equipment in order to delve further into the techniques of DJing, ie. scratch, and to acquire a more alternative vision. Experimenting as a scratcher and second voice with "Daïmon", a band of friends from his town of origin, he started to use his mixing material as an instrument in its own right.

In April 2000, the Valaisain metal group "No Name" was in search of a DJ and proposed to Dave to be a member in order to bring an electronic feel to their production. Success ensued in the form of numerous gigs and three albums. Still searching alchemically drove him to invest in a sampler in order to find new sounds and create various new environments.
During this same year, the Kawoa Crew collective, composed of Dj Freekass and Dj r-torkk (aka Dave) mix alternately in Drum'n'bass & Hardstep style, to play to the public at ski stations. Stacked full of scratching and hyper effects, Kawoa Crew shares its music with a very mixed public, including other groups and dj's.

At this stage in his life, music had started to become of number importance. It was in a regional FM station that he began a training course as radio operator. This was an excellent training where he became aware of all the whole process of musical production.

In 2002, the Baghdad Studios of Lausanne engaged him as production assistant and sound technician. This became an opportunity which opened the doors to him to the world of production using top-of-the-range material and state-of-the-art equipment. Sharing in the musical development and creation of other artists and in their different approaches, DJ R-Torkk continued to nourish these differences in style : Techno, Electro, Drum'n'bass, Hardcore, Metal, Hip hop, Breakbeat.

In 2003, a friend proposesd to him to make his own Web site. This idea helped get more bookings and allowed him to play abroad. In France he was requested by several organizations and clubs, and in particular to go and mix at the Paris Techno Parade, an opportunity which allowed him to acquire new contacts in France. Having fully explored mixing, it only remained to create his own musical works on vinyl. DJ R-Torkk continued to nourish these differences in style. The name Rytork was born following a printing error on a flyer. Using this original name and concept for electronic creation, concretized with the album "Electrozic" on which he mixes his influences, his goal is to advance, get more contacts and bookings and continue his passion by creating and sharing good music, with and for the public.
